Ledger Tax Group · Financial Services

Built for the six weeks that matter most

A tax practice lives and dies by how it handles the weeks before the filing deadline. Ledger Tax Group's site had no way to book a consultation, no client login, and nothing to do in February except stare at a phone number.

The Ledger Tax Group homepage shown on a laptop and a phone, a photograph of an advisor meeting with clients and the headline Tax & Accounting Solutions for Your Business.
A capable-looking site that, come tax season, gave clients nothing to do but wait on hold.

The problem

Ledger's busiest six weeks of the year are also the ones where every client wants the same thing at once: a slot on the calendar, a place to drop off documents, and a straight answer on filing status. The old site had a placeholder blue square for a logo and one contact form for every kind of request.

During filing season, that single inbox became a bottleneck. Individual filers, small businesses and self-employed clients all landed in the same queue with no way to tell staff up front which kind of return they were dealing with.

There was also no client portal. Documents moved by email attachment, which is neither secure nor organized when a firm is juggling hundreds of returns in the same eight-week window.

The approach

Three moves, in order.

01

Give the firm a mark worth putting on a return

A ledger-book icon and a proper navy-and-gold identity replaced the placeholder square, the kind of detail clients notice on something as trust-dependent as a tax filing.

02

Sort requests by filing type at the door

The consultation form asks whether it's an individual, small business or self-employed filing, so staff triage the calendar instead of discovering the type mid-call.

03

Move documents into a real portal

A client portal for uploading documents, tracking filing status and messaging the accountant replaced the email-attachment system that broke down every February.

The work

What we built.

The new homepage

The new Ledger Tax Group homepage on desktop and mobile: a deep navy hero reading Tax season, handled, with a filing-status progress tracker card.
The homepage, built for the eight weeks that matter. A filing-status tracker turns the busiest season into something clients watch rather than phone about.
The services page: a three-card grid for Tax Preparation, Bookkeeping and Payroll Services, each with a line icon and short description.
Three services, clearly separated, so clients understand what Ledger handles beyond just April.
The book a consultation page: a form with name, email, a filing-type dropdown for Individual, Small Business or Self-Employed, and preferred date.
Filing type captured at booking, not discovered halfway through the first call.
The client portal page: a login card with email and password fields, beside a bulleted list of portal features including uploading documents and tracking filing status.
A real portal for the eight weeks a year when email attachments were never going to hold up.

Also delivered

A filing-deadline countdown banner the firm can toggle on each spring, since the single biggest driver of early bookings turned out to be a visible reminder of how few weeks were left.

“February used to mean one inbox, one phone line, and pure chaos figuring out who needed what. Now the portal sorts it before it reaches us, and that's given my staff back hours during the only season where hours actually matter.”
